The news broke at about 11:30 am here, and there was an instant burst of cheering from the street outside. Lots of neighborhoods and cities throughout the U.S. broke out with spontaneous street parties.
I couldn’t join the one in my neighborhood, of course, so I ultimately made a sign to hang in the window – but for a while I was trying to figure out how to set up some speakers in the window to blast the Ewok’s “Yub Nub” song from RETURN OF THE JEDI out to the street. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEi9WB18vwE
